Have a old piece of glass in my foot?

by Melissa Rorabaugh
(Hays,KS )

I have a piece of glass stuck inside my foot on the arch and now it is itchy and tender is it trying to come out? Been in my foot for over 30 years.

Hi Melissa,
The piece of glass may have moved and is closer to the surface. The other possibility is that you may finally be having a foreign body reaction to the glass and that is causing inflammation.
Go have it looked at, perhaps it can be removed.

Wine glass stem
by: Andrew

Well this blows!!! I have a 8.6mm piece of glass lodged between my metatarsals. Stepping on the stem of the broken wine glass has been the MOST painful experience of my life. Worst part is th doctor said that surgery is to risky since the glass is so close to some nerves and it might be better to leave it in my foot The piece is so deep you cant even see it in the x-ray from the side.

glass in my foot after 20 years
by: Anonymous

I stepped on glass and got stitches in the center of my foot over 20 years ago and now it hurts to stand. Do you think there is glass still in the foot and if so can i get it removed ?
