looks like plantars wart

I have what looks to me like a plantars wart. The doctor tells me it is a cyst I am having a series of 10 injections of some type of alcohol that is supposed to dissolve it. I am wondering if this sounds correct??

Hi,

There is a condition known as porokeratosis which is basically a clogged sweat gland. (the feet have over 250,000 sweat glands) In many cases they are misdiagnosed as warts generally by physicians not familiar with foot pathology.
There is a treatment for this condition which involves injecting the growth with denatured alcohol in an attempt to "dissolve" them. I use denatured alcohol to treat another foot condtion known as Morton's neuroma, but frankly I have never tried the denatured alcohol on a porokeratosis. So....the short answer to your question is it does sound correct, but unfortunately I cannot give you any guidance as to what to expect.
