I developed a severe burning pain in the top of my left foot. At the onset(about a month ago), it only hurt to push in the clutch of my car or point my foot. Now, it constantly tingles, and is painful to touch as well. As I read about some of the conditions and symptoms on this site, it appears to be mid tarsal fault. I am 40 years old, and fairly flat footed. I bicycle and exercise on an eliptical. Should I stop those activites? It doesn't hurt while I am doing them. Any advise on what direction to go with treatment?
Hi Suzanne, With proper treatment by a podiatrist there should be no reason to stop your activities. This is a fairly common problem and one that is easily treated by a foot specialist. Marc Mitnick DPM
Hi! I have the same problem with burning on top of my foot 6 months until now after my surgery. It burns more when i do 15 min or more walking during the day and only relives when i am off of it for 6 to 12 hours or more depends on how much i move thoughout the day. this is an aggrevating burning pain that gets worse at night when cover in applied.
