I have had this pain for years. I had foot sugery for neuroma. Dr. came in and said "there was scartissue wrapped around the nerve" He removed the scartissue and said the nerve "pinked up". So he closed it up. Well here I am 3 years later in extreme pain. I have been back in to him and he says it has to be neurothpy. I am diabetic but this pain is not tingling. It brings me to tears, I have lortabs for back pain and they do't even touch the pain. Should I keep going to this Dr. or change.
Hi Lorrie, I do not know what "pinked up" means. If he went in to remove a neuroma and then did not remove it I am not surprised you still have problems. In the literature, Morton's neuroma pain can be described as someone taking a knife and stabbing you in the foot. You are right, that is not diabetic neuropathy. You most certainly should get a second opinion especially if you are still in the amount of pain you state you are and am not getting any satisfaction from your present doctor. Marc Mitnick DPM
