pain ful bump on side of big toe

There is a painful bump or knot (IT IS VERY SMALL) on the side of my big toe. It is not at the joint but on the side of the toe, I would say exactly halfway down the toe. I am a walker and walk 5 miles every day and I am 65.

Without examining you, it would be difficult for me to diagnose, but synovial cyst comes to mind as one possibility.
Go see a local podiatrist and get an accurate diagnosis.
