pain like an electic shock in my left toe

by narie
(ireland)

my left top toe gets a dart pain its like an electric shock in my left toe and it only happens every now and last for a few minutes but its a strange sensation.

Hi Narie,
Sounds like local irritation to a nerve, similar to "hitting your funny bone". If it bothers you enough, see your doctor.

stabbing electrical pain in toes
by: Anonymous

i am having symptoms that soundsimilar. when i stretch my legs and point my toes i hav this stabbing pain just last for a few seconds but feels like what i could imagine getting shocked would feel in the top side of of my left big toe and the top of foot on right foot between my third and fourth toes. it never hurts like that when i am walking or just relaxing, but this is very annoying and i hav had these symptoms for several months and would have thought by now it would have gone away or got worse???

sting on side of foot
by: sashinka

I had L5 S1 laminectomy 30 yrs. ago . Left calf has atrophied. Ihabve no Achilles reflex in left foot and cannot stand on left foot toes.

All this is NOT debilitating. However occasionally I will get a sharp stinging pain (like a knife plunging ) on the side of my foot. It is intermittent but can be excriciating. It lasts seconds, subsides, then returns. It seems to happen when only when I'm feeling feverish or ill. It stings anywhere from my little toe to my ankle along the outside of my foot.

What to do? What is it?
