red to purple toes and feet

by india
(va)

i had osteomylitis back in june went on a picc line for 6 weeks had my toenail removed and leg and foot turned red to a purplish color that night doctor told me to stay off it which i did when i went back for my check up said everything was fine and released that was july my leg and foot still turns red mostly my foot now and sometimes when i am sitting with my foot hanging down it turns purple and as soon as i put any pressure on that foot by standing my foot turns red and when i take a bath that foot turns really red please help me i have had every test for circulation problems and blood clots everything is negative

Hi India,
May I assume the osteomyelitis was in the same foot that the nail was removed and of course is the same foot that is changing colors?
The color change may just represent the vascular compromise that occurred during the bone infection or perhaps it may represent a circulation problem even though you state you have been test for a blood clot. I do not know how old you are or your medical history, but I think the prudent move would be to discuss the color changes with your doctor and let he or she determine if this is cause for alarm as it has been a couple of months since your illness.
