swelling and intense pain while trying to walk

by Mike
(Wichita,Ks)

I had triple athrodeis 2/11/09 2mos hard cast 1mo. walking boot. I was released to go back to work on 5/7/09,went to work same day. I'am a car saleman a we have big lot. I'am having a hard walking because of the ankle and foot swelling. Everytime I

take a step it is painful and I limp or hop. I don't think I can make another week
with this pain and swelling. I wear tennis shoes because my left foot is so big that's all I can wear. Did go back to work to soon? The only time it goes down while I'am a sleep. When will it stop swelling?

Hi Mike,
The symptoms should subside over time, but two things worth mentioning. One is you may need a special shoe to allow you to walk long distances and secondly, have you gone for physical therapy; it would go a long way in reducing your pain.
