Toe Joint Replacement

I'm 70 years old and had big toe joint (Swanson silastic w/o grommets) 2 weeks ago. The surgeon has recommended that I stop playing tennis (doubles) or only play occasionally to avoid wearing the joint out prematurely. I'd like a 2nd opionion.

The best second opinion is one performed in person so your foot can be examined.
In general, the more activity you put on the joint, the quicker it will wear out. Most bunion implants will last between 10-15 years on average.
