top of foot pan

I am a runner, use orthotics, and have hammer toes...hope that helps. I am having great pain on the top of my foot. The bone at the top of my right foot is a bit pointed, I thought it was a bruise, but is not going away. It's tender to the touch just in that area. It doesn't really hurt when I walk without a shoe. Can you suggest anything this could be?

Hi,
Having a bone on the top of the foot that is "pointed" is highly suggestive of a bone spur. Shoe pressure on the spot will cause pain, generally it will not hurt when barefoot. It is readily treatable, so I would suggest you see a podiatrist.
